Kristy’s career began in 1994 while working in the hospitality industry at a hotel/casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon her return to Los Angeles, she received her CA Insurance Producer license in 2001. During this time, Kristy was employed at a top producing general agency as a health insurance underwriter and case advocate. She assisted a large number of people in obtaining individual, small group and Medicare supplement insurance policies.
Kristy has extensive knowledge in many aspects of health insurance policies, procedures and laws; she received additional training to become an Anthem Blue Cross Certified Underwriter, in addition to HIPAA GBLA Compliance regulations. She is currently pursuing her certification to offer Medicare related products as this is an area in which she is particularly interested and desires to assist our older population.
In 2010, at the age of 37, Kristy was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer. Due to her family history and other factors, she opted for and received aggressive treatment, including mastectomies followed by reconstruction, oophorectomies and chemotherapy.
As a result of her then being a medical consumer, Kristy acquired extensive knowledge of insurance utilization and procedures. She realizes the need for greater assistance and education on behalf of the general population and is determined to assist those with any medical insurance related matter and those afflicted with medical conditions in navigating through the maze of confusing health insurance regulations. She receives ongoing career development through continuing education, regulatory information and she stays informed of the latest information with health care reform.
Kristy is a native of Los Angeles, California. She completed her first marathon in 2011, just a few months after completing her cancer treatments and she continues to participate in a variety of charity/fundraising events. She is also an active participant in several breast cancer clinical trial study groups with UCLA and she speaks with individuals who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Kristy is very passionate about health and wellness.
