Colin Megaro is a NYC/LA based celebrity wardrobe stylist and fashion expert with a list of clients from around the world. From Hollywood to New York to Paris and beyond he provides honest, accurate, and on-point advice to help clients create a style that is all their own. Colin’s signature look combines the glamour of old Hollywood with the timelessness of classic, wearable pieces. Working with Colin results effortless, balanced looks not just for that special day, but every day.
Colin was raised by a style-conscious family in Massachusetts, where his zeal for the fashion industry began at a young age. His greatest inspiration, his grandmother, taught him the importance of clothing and looking good. She exposed him to designers and greatly nurtured his creative side.
Growing up Colin was unsure whether his love for fashion could translate into a professional career, but he nevertheless decided to jump headfirst into his first love, move to New York City and pursue a career in fashion. For years, Colin honed his craft and learned about his profession from every angle. He did hands-on work in interior design creating textiles and adding his sought-after style to amazing homes and events, worked in fine jewelry, and served as Senior Fashion Editor of Fashion Q and A.
Some of Colin’s greatest professional achievements include appearances on “Yes We Love Hollywood” and TLC’s Hit Show “Breaking Amish LA” as well as being featured on Vogue.com, MyStyle.com and hosting events for Ivanka Trump, Giorgio Armani, Erica Courtney, and Gucci. In addition to serving as a celebrity wardrobe stylist and fashion consultant, he has served as the lead stylist for several independent films and as both the stylist and producer for promotional photo shoots of numerous top studios nationwide.
A selection of Colin’s clients includes Lisa Vanderpump of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” supermodel Niki Taylor, Michael Emerson of “Person of Interest” (for his 2009 Emmy win), Julie Benz of “Dexter,” Carrie Preston of “True Blood,” Wendi McLendon-Covey of ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” and legendary music producer David Foster.
Philanthropy is another driving force in Colin’s life, and he is actively involved with GLAAD, Metropolitan Museum Young Associates, Metropolitan Opera Young Associates, Jeffrey Fashion Cares, and the American Cancer Society. Colin has received accolades for his participation with GMHC, Jeffrey Fashion Cares and the Hetrick-Martin Institute.
In 2008, Colin founded Colin Megaro, LLC, a lifestyle company based out of New York and Los Angeles to give clients a “total style source” service that styles their wardrobe as well as home or corporate event. “I wanted to create a niche,” Colin says, “Need a designer gown before it hits the stores…done! Want to charter a private jet for your anniversary? Oh yes we can…and we’ll make the hotel and car reservations too!” Some of the company’s most notable achievements include procuring rare Hermes Birkin bags for clients, reservations at the notoriously impossible-to-book Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong, and arranging for couture gowns made in half the normal time.
What drives Colin? “That moment when one of my clients looks into the mirror and their whole demeanor changes because of an outfit I put together, that is why I do this, why I love my job!”
