Laura Reed, OD, CPCP, FAAM

Paramedical Tattoo Artist and Permanent Makeup Specialist

Meridian, ID. USA

Being a lifelong artist, Dr. Laura Reed always enjoyed making beautiful things or making things more beautiful. Yet her interest in science and helping others steered her toward a career as an Optometric Physician. Since her graduation in 1985, she had a multi-faceted career working in clinical research, marketing, and sales for contact lens and pharmaceutical companies. After completing an MBA, she travelled extensively helping doctors as a senior consultant for a practice management firm. Although she was successful in her profession, Dr. Reed always worked for others and longed to have her own business but was unsure what to do.

One day Dr. Reed decided to get permanent makeup to help her save time getting ready in the mornings. The woman who tattooed her permanent eyebrows and eyeliner suggested becoming a cosmetic tattoo artist, and the idea for her business was born. In 2006, Dr. Reed started her permanent cosmetics practice “Artistic Cosmetic Solutions” in Orange County, CA. Since then she has performed thousands of procedures, has earned “Best of the West” awards for her permanent makeup artistry, and has earned internationally recognized credentials. She is a Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional (CPCP) from the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, and a Board Certified Diplomat/Fellow in the American Academy of Micropigmentation. She is frequently interviewed as an industry expert in newspapers, magazines, and blogs, and has contributed to several books including Surviving Beautifully and The Permanent Makeup Manual. In 2012, Dr. Reed moved her practice to Meridian, Idaho. She truly enjoys helping women and men look better and feel better about themselves on a daily basis.
