Lockey began her fitness career as a certified personal trainer. In 2006 she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, and underwent chemotherapy, bi-lateral mastectomies with saline implant reconstruction, and radiation.
After discovering that the real work of healing mind and body starts when treatment ends, she created MovingOn, a rehabilitative exercise program for breast cancer patients to correct postural compensations as well as stretch and strengthen specific muscle groups affected by treatment.
Her mantra: when you gain a little more strength and a little more flexibility in your body every day, you gain a little more strength in your soul to continue on.
Lockey is on the Community Advisory Board for the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Overlook Hospital, and has been featured in Shape and More magazines, as well as on CBS, ABC and News 12.
She trains private clients at Personal Best Fitness Studio in Garwood, New Jersey.
