Jeanine B. Downie, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and holds medical licenses in the states of New Jersey, New York and California. Dr.Downie is the director of her own practice, Image Dermatology P.C. in Montclair, N.J. She has extensive training and experience in all aspects of dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, laser and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Downie provides both adult and pediatric patients with competent, compassionate care and all patients are treated utilizing the most medically advanced techniques.
Dr. Downie is a graduate of Tufts University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology. She received her Master of Arts degree in Biology from American University and her Doctor of Medicine from SUNY-Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Dr. Downie completed two years of Pediatric residency at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She then completed her Dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and was also the Chief Resident nineteen. She is on staff at Mountainside and Overlook Hospitals and has published twenty eight scientific papers. Dr. Downie has been honored repeatedly by Castle Connolly as one of New York Metropolitan’s Top Doctors.
Dr. Downie has professional affiliations and lectures on behalf of some of the most prestigious medical societies, including The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, The American Academy of Dermatology, The Women’s Dermatologic Society and The Skin Cancer Foundation. She is frequently featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, The View with Barbara Walters, MSNBC, The Dr. Oz Show, The Rachael Ray Show, The Wendy Williams Show, The Montel Williams Show, Ten Years Younger, and more. She also has authored several book chapters including some medical textbooks and Bobbi Brown’s bestseller Living Beauty, Bobbi Brown Beauty Evolution and Hair Rules by Anthony Dickey. Her first book, Beautiful Skin of Color, is a comprehensive skin care guide for Asian, Olive and Dark Skin and was released in 2004 by Harper Collins.
Dr. Downie is a highly sought after lecturer who enjoys an excellent national and international reputation. She shares her expertise on a wide variety of topics including cosmetic dermatology, cosmeceuticals, skin cancer, photoaging, sunblock and skin of color. She is a lecturer, consultant and clinical researcher doing FDA and investigator initiated clinical trials for many of the top tier pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Downie also enjoys teaching other physicians and is an instructor for The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Fillers and Injectables course and is a long standing member of Allergan’s National Exchange Forum, where she serves as a faculty member, teaching Botox Cosmetic and filler injection techniques.

Dr. Downie’s passions include lecturing around the world on effective skin care products and procedures. Dr. Downie focuses a great deal of her energy on sun block protection. Her personal goals are steep and include trying to decrease the incidence of skin cancer through raising awareness about sun block protection.
